WATERBURY, CT - Melissa Nave, 28, of Waterbury, entered into the gates of heaven on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at her home in Waterbury. For many years, Melissa fought her illness with bravery and dignity.

Melissa was born in Waterbury on November 20, 1991, daughter of Nicola “Nick” and Giulietta “Giulie” (Morganella) Nave. Growing up in Waterbury, Melissa attended Waterbury local schools and graduated from Holy Cross High School, Class of 09’. After high school, Melissa attended St. Joseph’s College where she received her Bachelor’s Degree (Cum Laude) in nutrition and currently was working towards receiving her Master’s Degree from Central Connecticut State University.

Melissa always had a special passion for dancing and cooking. Above all, Melissa’s favorite thing to do was spend time with her grandparents, family and friends.

Besides her parents, Nick and Giulie Nave, of Waterbury, Melissa leaves behind to cherish her memory her maternal grandparents, Nicola and Maria Morganella of Waterbury, her paternal grandparents, Giuseppe Nave of Italy and the late Annunziata (Pesce), as well as her godparents, aunts, uncles, first and second cousins and her many friends.

Arrangements: A funeral will be held on Monday, August 10, 2020, 8:30 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial, The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Calvary Queen of Peace Mausoleum in Waterbury. Calling hours will be held Sunday afternoon from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
