Obituary: Mr. Edmund J. Hogan, 79, of Wolcott

Wolcott, CT – Mr. Edmund J. Hogan, 79, passed away on Sunday, December 20, at Vitas Innovative Hospice at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Ed was born October 12, 1941 in Waterbury, son of the late Howard J. and Catherine (Purcell) Hogan. Raised in Waterbury, he attended St. Francis Xavier Grammar School and was a graduate of Croft High School. He had attended the PTX Program at Warren F. Kaynor Technical High School and had been employed as a tool and die maker for many years. Ed had served honorably in the United States Army.
Ed is survived by his daughter, Erin Catherine Smith and her husband Richard of Waterford; his sister, Carol Hogan; his brother, John Hogan and step grandson, Dominic Smith. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Howard and William.

A memorial mass will be held at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in the spring. Burial will be private.
