Obituary: Mrs. Catherine Ann (Boccuzzi) DelGatti, age 86

A single mom, widowed at a young age, Cathy was a strong, independent woman who raised three daughters.

Beloved Mother and Grandmother

Mrs. Catherine Ann (Boccuzzi) DelGatti, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at Waterbury Hospital. She was the wife of the late Anthony Salvatore DelGatti.

Cathy was born on June 11, 1934, in Stamford, daughter of the late Carl J. and Charlotte (Wilson) Boccuzzi. A single mom, widowed at a young age, Cathy was a strong, independent woman who raised three daughters. She was a loving mom, a great cook, enjoyed saxophone music, vintage television and spending time daily with her family, especially her daughters. Cathy was an amazing grandmother and was happiest spending time with her grandchildren.

Cathy is survived by her three daughters Kelly Jean DelGatti Dupont and her husband David of Torrington, Kimberly Ann Cosmos and her husband Lawrence of Oakville, and Kristen Marie DelGatti and her fiancé Peter Dubroski of Waterbury; and her grandchildren Lawrence Anthony Cosmos and his husband Adam Mercer of Waterbury, Brandon James Cosmos and Jordan Richard Cosmos of Oakville. She also leaves her brother Carl Boccuzzi, Jr. of Watertown; her sisters Camille Perugini of Prospect and Gloria Eureka of Wolcott as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her brother Nicholas Boccuzzi.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 9:00am from Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church for a Mass at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Walk-thru calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9:00-10:00am. Everyone attending will be required to wear face masks and social distancing guidelines will be strictly followed.
