WOLCOTT, CT - Ms. Lucille (D’Aloia) Powers 71, formerly of Wolcott, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury CT. after a long illness and complications due to COVID-19.


“Lucy” was born in Waterbury Connecticut on August 23, 1949, daughter of the late Donato and Margaret (Gentile) D’Aloia, of Wolcott Connecticut. She lived in Wolcott until 1971, and later resided in Waterbury, Southbury and Milford Connecticut.

Lucy graduated from Wolcott High School in June of 1968. After graduating high school, she earned an Associate Degree in Arts and Bachelor of Arts Degree in English at Mattatuck Community College and Southern Connecticut State University, respectively. She had a successful career as a travel agent working in both the commercial and corporate sectors. She loved traveling to remote destinations and said that some of the most interesting places she visited were Israel and Egypt.


Lucy enjoyed entertaining family and friends, cooking fine Italian dishes and having her niece Megan over on the weekends. She loved animals, especially her cats.


She leaves two brothers, Daniel D'Aloia and his wife Barbara of Mint Hill, NC, Joseph D’Aloia and his wife Erica of Rocky Hill, CT, and several nieces and nephews. Lucy was loved by her family and will be missed dearly.


The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of St. Mary’s Hospital’s ICU who provided exceptional care and compassion to Lucy during her stay with them.


Arrangements: A graveside service with the cremains present will be held 10:00 a.m., January 2, 2021 at Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. There are no calling hours. Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury has been entrusted with handling Lucy’s arrangements.
