OXFORD, CT: Nickolas Ballas, age 93 of Oxford, beloved husband of the late Evelyn (Royer) Ballas, entered peaceful rest on Friday, October 16, 2020 in his home surrounded by family. Born in Bridgeport on February 20, 1927, he was a son of the late James and Irene (Dokay) Ballas.

A retired lead man for Sikorsky, Nickolas was a proud veteran of the US Army, serving in WWII. He loved fishing and was an avid NY Mets and UCONN Women’s Huskies fan.

Survivors include his loving children, Helena and Russell Cole of Oxford Ct, Keith and Sandra Ballas of Texas, Nickolas and Cheryl Ballas of Storrs Ct.; brother, Steve Ballas of Monroe; 5 adored grandchildren, Christina and Russell Cole, Brian and Stephen Ballas, and Michael Ellingson, as well as 4 cherished great grandchildren, Carley, Chase, Colt and Luke.

Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, October 25, 2020 from 2-6pm in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St. Seymour, CT 06483. Funeral Services with full military honors will take place on Monday at 10am DIRECTLY in the CT State Veteran’s Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT 06457. Please note that social distancing and mask protection will be observed throughout visitation and burial.
