Noella Duguay

December 25, 1922 ~ December 9, 2020

Wolcott – Noella L. Duguay, 97, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2020 at the Glendale Center in Naugatuck. She was the widow of the late Raymond Duguay to whom she was married to for 59 years.

Noella was born on December 25, 1922 in Lowell, MA., daughter of the late Albert and Maria (Mailloux) Lozeau. Noella worked in retail for a number of years and in her earlier days was a nurse’s aide at St. Joseph Hospital in Lowell, MA. She also volunteered at the Veterans Hospital in Waltham, MA. Noella was a member of the Wolcott Senior Center were she was a champion Wii Bowler. She also loved to sit outside and chat with friends whenever she was able. She will be remembered for her love of family. Her grandchildren would say, “I love you,” to which she would reply, “I love you more.”

Noella is survived by two daughters, Diane Hogan of Prospect and Karen Gaudiosi of Waterbury; 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; and her sister Doris St. Arnaud of Lowell, MA. She was predeceased by her brother Harvey Lozeau; and two son-in-laws, Fred Gaudiosi and Allyn Hogan.

The family would like to thank the nurses and caregivers at Glendale for the care and loving attention given to our mother; also thanks to Donna at Seasons Hospice for helping her and us through this time.

A walk through calling hour will be on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott. A Mass of Christian burial at St. Leo the Great Church (Mary Mother of the Church Parish) 14 Bentwood Drive in Waterbury will be held at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be strictly enforced.
