Obituary: Peter James Evangelisti of Bantam

Earning his master's degree in Recreational Therapy, he dedicated himself to his career as a Healthcare Administrator.

Bantam - Peter James Evangelisti born and raised in Bantam Connecticut passed away on September 18, 2022. Pete was born on October 28, 1951, to the late David and Faustina Evangelisti.

He graduated from Litchfield High School in 1969. He attended Northwestern Community College before enlisting in the US Navy in 1970. Pete was a Communications Technician responsible for intercepting messages by Morse Code, stationed on Adak Island and in Honolulu, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1974.

Pete returned to finish his education, earning his master’s degree in Recreational Therapy, dedicating himself to his career as a Healthcare Administrator.

He is survived by his son and best friend Clinton Ryan Thomas, loving daughter-in-law Jillian (Grey) and beloved granddaughter Samantha Joanne. He is also survived by his siblings Beverly Usher, John David (Butch) Evangelisti, Linda Bertaccini and Michael Evangelisti as well as his lifelong friend Patricia Thomas and his loyal dog Jake. He was a proud and loving uncle to 20 nieces and nephews, 20 great-nieces and nephews and 4 great-great nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call on Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 4:00pm – 6:30pm at Thurston Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield, CT. A Graveside service will be on Friday, September 23, 2022 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, 715 Bantam Road, Bantam, CT.
