WATERBURY, CT - Pietro F. Martone, age 45, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at his home. He was born on June 18, 1975, in Waterbury, the son of Angelo Martone, Sr., and the late Michela (Mancini) Martone.
Pietro was a graduate of Wilby High School, Class of 1996 and long-time communicant of St. Lucy’s Church and later Sts. Peter and Paul Church. Pietro was an employee of C.W. Resources for 23 years. He loved his job and all of his co-workers. Pietro was an extremely loving person. He was a friend to everyone he met. He enjoyed music and dancing. He would always be the first and last person on the dance floor keeping the party going. Pietro like trips to the casino and playing the slots. He was multi-medal winning Special Olympian and excelled in Bocci and Bowling. Most of all spending time with his family truly made him happy.

In addition to Angelo Sr. his father, Pietro is survived by his brothers, Angelo Martone Jr. of Waterbury and Anthony Martone and his wife Ann Marie (Massimo) Martone of Watertown. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Anthony Martone Jr., Joseph Anthony Martone, Mia Michela Martone, Angelo Martone III, Kimberly Michela Martone, Michael Martone, D’Angelo Martone, Angelisse Martone, Aidan Martone, and Armani Martone, his aunts Maria Martone and her companion Gary Koropatkin of West Hartford, and Concetta King and her husband Larry of Windham as well as his close cousins, Josepina Mancini, Frank Mancini and his wife Marissa, Rocco Mancini, Brianna King, and Gabriella King and many aunts, uncles and cousins here and in Italy.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 10:00am from Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., to Mary Mother of the Parish, Sts. Peter and Paul Church for a Mass at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Walk-through calling hours will be held on Wednesday evening from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. Everyone attending will be required to wear face masks and social distancing guidelines will be strictly followed.
