NAUGATUCK - Rafael Rivera, age 52, of Naugatuck, passed away unexpectedly Saturday July 24, 2021 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Rivera) Rivera.

Rafael was born January 4, 1969 in Yauco, Puerto Rico, a son of Manuel Torres and Nery (Caraballo) Torres. Rafael graduated from the University of Connecticut where he earned his bachelor's degree. Prior to the Covid 19 pandemic, Rafael was employed as a teacher having taught English as a second language in China.
Besides his loving wife of 23 years, he leaves 2 brothers Melvin Rivera of Waterbury, Angel Riello and his wife Kate of Waterbury , a sister Nery Baldoni and her husband Chris of Hamden and several nieces and nephew's. He was predeceased by a brother Andy Rivera.

Arrangements: Funeral services for Rafael will be held on Saturday, August 7 at 12:00 p.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family. Calling our Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the service at noon at the funeral home.
