Obituary: Rene Y. Levesque, 67, of Narragansett, RI

Rene Y. Levesque, age 67, passed away suddenly at his home on December 30, 2022. He was born in Bathurst, New Brunswick, Canada on August 7, 1955 to Clementine and Euclide. As a child, Rene spent many happy summers in New Brunswick at the cottage or family farm with his many French Canadian relatives fishing and raising chickens; activities that continued throughout his life.

Rene was raised in Waterbury, Connecticut. After attending Crosby High School, he worked at Mattatuck Manufacturing as a tool setter for many years. More recently, he made his home in Rhode Island. He leaves behind his wife Patricia (Bugnacki), three children; Stephanie Dunn and her husband Michael of Waterbury, Joseph Levesque and his wife Victoria of Florida, and Loren Levesque of Rhode Island, one grandchild Mikey Dunn, three siblings; Lynne Levesque Andree (Keith), Leon Levesque and his fianc? Meredith Kulesa, and Michelle Longo (Fred)), a stepson Stephen Aylward, his wife Samantha and step-grandchildren Charlotte and Thomas of Rhode Island, a niece Chloe and several nephews; Wyatt, Freddie, Vincent, Leon Jr., and Anthony.

An outdoorsman, Rene surrounded himself with nature. Tinkering and teasing were favorite pastimes and he was good at making people laugh, and also cooking for them. One of a kind, Rene always was and will continue to be unforgettable.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi in Naugatuck, CT on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM.
