Richard George Guerrera Jr. age 56 of Woodbury passed away unexpectedly August 28, 2021 at his residence. He was the former husband of Patricia (Varanelli) Burgess.


Richard was born June 28, 1965 in Waterbury, a son of the late Richard G. Guerrera Sr. and the late Roseann (Smith) Guerrera. He was a graduate of Watertown High School. Richard had worked as a plumber for the state of Connecticut Department of Corrections for several years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved the outdoors; however, Richard's greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends and was a loving grandfather. He will be missed by those who were blessed to know and love him.

He leaves his sons Richard Michael Guerrera and his wife Courtney Nicole Guerrera of Fall River, MA, Daniel R. Guerrera of Watertown, his daughter Rebecca Lynn Guerrera of New Britain, his sister Michelle Becker and her husband Allen of Wolcott, and loving uncle to Rachel Becker and her wife Kristen Varney of New Milford, Myles Becker of Wolcott, two grandchildren Grace and Caleb Guerrera, his godmother Linda Smith, many cousins, aunts and uncles.


Arrangements: Funeral Thursday September 2, 2021 at 9 am directly at Saint John the Evangelist Church. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury. Calling hours Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm at Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury.
