Obituary: Richard Nikolay Cosgrove, 26, of Thomaston

He was a graduate of Thomaston High School and received his certificate in tool making from Naugatuck Valley Community College.

THOMASTON- Richard Nikolay Cosgrove, 26, of Thomaston, died Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at his home.
Richie was born in Waterbury, May 2, 1996, son of Daniel R. and Therese "Terry" (Burns) Cosgrove. He was a graduate of Thomaston High School, Class of 2014, and received his certificate in tool making from Naugatuck Valley Community College. He currently worked as a waiter at The White Hart Inn in Salisbury and had worked at several companies as a tool and die maker. He was a communicant of St. Thomas Church and involved in many of its programs.
Richie was a member of Boy Scout Troop 53 and a 2nd Degree black belt under Master Ken Laliberte. He played the flute and participated in many sports. He enjoyed skateboarding, hiking and fishing and loved to cook and come up with his own recipes. He had a fun-loving, caring personality and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Besides his parents, Richie leaves his brother, Daniel Cosgrove, Jr.; his sister, Alexandria Burns; his aunts, Lucy Pacileo and her husband Joe, Mary Belanger, April Carrara, and Mary Rickevicius; and many cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 7, 2022, 10 a.m., at St. Thomas Church, 1 East Main St., Thomaston. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family. Calling hours, Wednesday, 5-7 p.m., at the Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St., Watertown.
