Obituary: Richard Thomas Ruff Jr., 62, Of Naugatuck

Richard Thomas Ruff, Jr., 62, husband of Heide (Hagedorn) Ruff, died September 28, 2023 at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Richard was born June 9, 1961 in Nashville, TN son of the late Richard Thomas Ruff, Sr. and Barbara (Allen) Ruff. Richard lived in Naugatuck all of his life, he graduated from Naugatuck High School and worked at Sikorsky Aircraft for the past 39 years. Richard was a proud US Army Veteran; he enjoyed watching old television shows and Star Trek and he loved his NY Giants.

In addition to Heide, his loving wife of 28 years, Richard is survived by his son, Marcus Ruff of Naugatuck; his sister and brother in law, Chrystle (Ruff) Scott and Ga'Noal Scott, Sr. of Texas; his cousin, Raye Ruff, Jr. and his wife, Darleen of Shelton, CT; his sister in law, Lisa Hagedorn of Naugatuck and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his mother and father in law, Eva "Cookie" Carlson and Richard C. Carlson and his brother in law, Carl Hagedorn Sr.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. A service will be held immediately following calling hours at 7 p.m.
