WATERBURY, CT - Rose Mary (Papa) Thomas, 97, formerly of Frost Road in Waterbury passed away peacefully Saturday, October 3, 2020 in the VITAS Unit at Saint Mary's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved widow of Theodore J. Thomas Sr.
Rose was born August 6, 1923 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Antonio and Anna (Mascoli) Papa. Rose was employed as inspector at Devon Manufacturing in Wolcott where she worked for over 20 years until her retirement in 1998. She had also worked at Scovill Manufacturing and John’s Manufacturing prior to Devon. Rose was an avid gardener.

She leaves; 2 sons, Theodore J. Thomas Jr. and his wife Marie of Wolcott and Michael C. Thomas and his wife Denise of Northfield; a daughter, Rosanne Elliott and her husband Maynard of Waterbury; a sister-in-law, Rose Papa of San Diego, CA; five grandchildren, Derek Thomas, Tom Reilly, Carla Fidenza, Brooke Raad and Dani Elliott and seven great grandchildren, Sofia, Gabriella, Santino, Guiliana, Joey, Alex and Katie. She was predeceased by 4 brothers, Mike Papa, Carmen Papa, Dominic Papa and Mario Papa.
Arrangements: Funeral will be Wednesday 10 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury to Our Lady of Lourdes Church for a mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Waterbury. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
