Rose (Terni) Setaro, 76, of Watertown, entered into the gates of heaven on Saturday, October 01, 2022, at Hartford Hospital after a strong and courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of the late Antonio Setaro who predeceased her earlier this year.

Rose was born in Colle, Italy, on March 5, 1946, daughter of the late Arnaldo and Maria Luisa (Cavani) Terni. Rose was known by many for her fantastic cooking and for her skill in baking outstanding treats for friends and family. She was also a very talented seamstress and took immense pride of this skill.

For many years she worked for the family business as bookkeeper for Setaro Motors and Jet Spray Car Washes. She was also a devout Catholic, and was a loyal parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Watertown, where she also served an eucharistic minister. Rose always had the door to her house open to anyone, but beyond everything she was a proud mother, grandmother, and “bisnonna”, who absolutely adored her family.

Rose leaves behind to cherish her memory her four children, Nancy Esposito and her husband Charles of Watertown, MaryLou Setaro of Vineyard Haven, MA, Anthony G. Setaro and his wife Elizabeth of Watertown, and Teresa Setaro of Watertown. She also leaves behind her sister, Anna Evelyn Longo and her husband Louis of Middlebury, her dearest-in-laws and best friends, Domenic and Maria Teresa Setaro, seven grandchildren, Anthony, Michael, and Marcanthony Piland, Thomas, Alexander, and Joseph Esposito, Vincent Setaro, a great granddaughter, Sutton Rose Piland, and many cherished nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Giuseppina Venturelli.

Arrangements: Calling hours for Rose will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial, the Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, to St. John the Evangelist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown.
