Devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.

Prospect, CT - Rosetta E. Chatfield, 93, wife of the late Richard K. “Dick” Chatfield for 58 years, died peacefully on March 17, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Rosetta was born April 27, 1929 in Waterbury, CT daughter of the late Thomas and Ellen (Welsh) Eyman and she graduated from Wilby High School.

Rosetta was a longtime resident of Prospect where she met her husband, who was the light of her life for 58 years. Rosetta longed for the day when they would be reunited. They traveled the country in their RV, took many overseas vacations and were members of the Holiday Rambler Club.

Rosetta was a member of the Beacon Falls Congregational Church and she was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.

Left to honor Rosetta’s memory are her daughter, Cindy Chatfield Nardozza of Ansonia, CT; her granddaughter, Katherine Gomes (John) of Ansonia, CT; her grandson, Mark Nardozza of Norcross, GA; her granddaughter, Margaret Pinto (John) of Prospect, CT; her 8 great grandchildren; her great-great grandchild and her son, Richard Chatfield and his family.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11:00am at Prospect Cemetery, 1 Union City Road, Prospect, CT. Everyone attending is kindly asked to please meet directly at the cemetery. There are no calling hours and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck.
