Salliman “Sally” (Wilton) Sharif, 81, of Waterbury, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Beacon Brook Healthcare in Naugatuck. She was the loving wife of the late Ramjan Sharif.
Sally was born in Cotton, Tree Village, West Coast Berbice, Guyana, on November 6, 1941, daughter of the late Abdul Rajab and Rahiman Wilton. For over twenty-six years, Sally worked for Atlas Screw until her retirement. Being a talented seamstress, Sally loved to sew, especially to give her loved ones items she made. Sally always enjoyed someone’s company, especially being around all of her grandchildren whom she adored.
Sally leaves behind to cherish her memory her five children, Sheila Velez and her husband Jose of Auburndale, FL, Halima Goeal and her husband Manny of Prospect, Walima Arjoon and her husband Parsram of Waterbury, Yassim Sharif and his wife Celia of Waterbury, and Latifa Ranganadan and her husband Ash of McAlpin, FL. She also leaves behind her siblings, Whajidan Bacchus of Guyana, Sahidan Nazrudeen of NY, Shaw Wilton of NY, her grandchildren, Zena, Abe, Joey, Sheriza, Raj, Mo, Ian, Johnny, Jazmin, Alyssa, Kareena, Justin, her great grandchildren, Bob, Aeisha, Donovan, Alex, Razeena, Carmello, Maleq, Christopher, Sienna, Brooklyn, Gracie Belle, Jaylin, Joshua, Gabe, her great great grandchildren, Zoey, and Thor, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Baby Hoosain, Zamina Khan and Hamidan Yacoob.

Arrangements: A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023, 10:00 am. at Chase Parkway Memorial, the Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. Those attending the service are asked to call at 9:30 a.m. Monday morning. Burial will follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury. Calling hours will be held on Sunday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
