Waterbury, CT – Sonia Lugo, 73, of Waterbury, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Waterbury Hospital.
Sonia was born on September 2, 1947 in Penuelas, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Luis A. Dox and Isabella Gonzalez. Sonia was a graduate of Naugatuck Valley Community College and a retired Outreach School Social Worker for the Cities of Waterbury and New Haven. She will be remembered for her love of family and her greatest joy was laughing with her grandkids.

Sonia is survived by two sons, Marcos A. Lugo and Felipe Lugo (Janet Ocasio); her brother Luis A. Dox Jr.; six grandchildren, Emelinda Lugo, Alyssa J. Lugo, Amanda M. Lugo, Giordyn A. Lugo, Marcos N. Lugo, and Kristyana A. Lugo; a great-grandson Caleb A. Garcia; and her faithful cat Beba.
She was predeceased by her son Nelsyn Lugo.

Walk through calling hours will be on Friday, December 18 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Bergin Funeral Home, 290 E. Main St., Waterbury. Mask and social distancing are required and everyone is kindly asked to leave the funeral home after paying their respects. Burial of cremains will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 11:00 A.M. at Calvary Cemetery.
