PROSPECT, CT - Stanley G. Kowalec, Jr., 72, of Prospect, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the loving companion of Debra Burns for over 30 years.

He was born on May 26, 1948 in Plantsville, son of the late Stanley and Esther (Daniels) Kowalec, Sr. After high school, Stanley served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from Costco after working for them for over 20 years. In his spare time, he liked to tinker in the garage working on bird houses and other projects. Stanley was also a diehard Red Sox and New York Giants fan.
Stanley is survived by his fiancé Debra Burns of Prospect, a brother Thomas Kowalec and wife Nadine of Southington, a sister in law Jody Kowalec of Southington, a niece Stephanie Kowalec and a nephew Thomas Kowalec, Jr.
He was predeceased by a brother Richard Kowalec.

The funeral will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 26 at the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd., Prospect. Burial with full military honors will follow at Prospect Cemetery. A walk through calling hour will be held on Thursday from 6-7 pm. All CDC and state guidelines for COVID will be adhered to.
