“Beloved Husband, Father, Pop, and Hoppy”
Stephen D. Giannelli Jr., age 68, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Saint Mary’s Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Cynthia (Ianniello) Giannelli.
Steve was born on November 6, 1952 in Waterbury, son of the late Steve and Josephine (Sciarretta) Giannelli. He was a graduate of Kennedy High School and worked for the United States Postal Service for over 30 years, having retired as a postal clerk. He was a longtime member of the B.P.O Elks, both in Waterbury and Westbrook. Steve was the life of the party and a quick-witted jokester. He always had something funny to say to make you smile. With a warm, giving heart, Steve was always there for family and friends. An avid outdoorsman, Steve enjoyed boating, fishing and time spent at the beach. Above all, he was devoted to his family and cherished the time he spent with his beloved grandchildren.
