Obituary: Stephen M. Sackter, 79, of Prospect
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Bay of Pigs. He was a member of the VFW of North Haven.

Stephen M. Sackter, 79, of Prospect, passed away peacefully on Friday July 23, 2021 at River Glen Health Center. Steve was the loving husband of Adele Gray for over forty wonderful years.
Steve was born in Hartford, CT on November 26, 1941, a son of the late David and Esther (Kaufman) Sackter. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Bay of Pigs. He was a member of the VFW of North Haven and the Newtown Kennel Club.

Steve was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, boating, horseback riding and dogsledding. He and his wife have raised Siberian Husky and Shiba Inu dogs along with their horses while living in their 300-year-old farmhouse. Steve loved going out to eat, especially for BBQ ribs. Family was everything to Steve. Spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren made him the happiest.
Besides his wife Adele, Steve leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory his daughter Robbin Dobkins and son in law Scott Dobkins, grandchildren; Amber Mackbach, Jamie Dobkins and Shane Dobkins and his great grand daughters Bethany and Leigha, his sister Faith Brayer of Fla and a niece and nephew.

Funeral Services for Steve will be held on Tuesday July 27, 2021 at 12:30 at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd., Prospect. Burial with military honors will immediately follow at Prospect Cemetery, 1 Union City Rd., Prospect.
