Teuta was born in Tepelene, Albania on November 29, 1968, the daughter of the late Bachkim and Vesire (Lulo) Zaimi. Before moving to the United States and settling in Waterbury in 2004 with her family, Teuta earned her BA in education and served as an elementary school teacher in Albania. For the last 19 years, Teuta worked at multiple Dunkin’ Donuts locations in Waterbury, ultimately earning the role of manager at the West Main Street location where she took great pride and satisfaction serving her community.
Along with her beloved husband, Genci, she leaves her two children, whom she loved beyond measure: her daughter, Adora Harizaj of Farmington, and her son, Vitmar along with his wife, Nancy, and their daughter, Lori, of Wolcott. She leaves her two brothers, Musa and Izet Zaimi both of Albania, and her three sisters, Valentina Zeneli and Venetike Naco of Albania, and Aneta Hasani of Waterbury. Teuta was fearless and passionate in all things, embracing the world with an open heart. She cherished time devoted to family and friends, and the adventure of travel- her spirit and memory will be honored as these values live on through her children. Teuta’s special bond with her granddaughter, Lori brought a limitless joy shared by her husband Genci.
