OAKVILLE - On Tuesday, December 15, 2020, Timothy “Sarge” Sargunas, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away at the age of 71.
Timothy was born on August 27, 1949 in Waterbury, to Albert and Mary (West) Sargunas. He worked as a patient care giver at Waterbury Hospital for most of his career and later retired from Adult Services at St. Vincent’s in Stratford. He was passionate about helping and caring for others in his career and personal life.

On October 22, 1982, he married Susan Lynn Hill. They raised two children, Jessica and Timothy Jr. More than anything, Tim enjoyed spending time with his family, and telling and listening to stories. He was never happier than spending quality time with his grandkids. He was known by everyone as a guy who lit up a room and was always smiling. He could make anyone feel as though they had known him for years and would do anything for anyone he loved. Some of his hobbies included fishing and boating and watching NASCAR racing, football, and other sports.
Timothy was preceded in death by his father, Albert, his mother, Mary, his brother, John, and his son Timothy Jr. He is survived by his wife Susan of Oakville; his daughter Jessica Vitale and her husband Robert of Alexandria, VA; his brother Michael Sargunas and his wife Deborah of Waterbury; his nephew, Michael Sargunas, Jr. of Portland, TN; as well as his two beloved grandsons, Nevyn Sargunas of Oakville, and Lucas Vitale of Alexandria, VA.
