Obituary: William E. Brundage, 68, of Prospect

He was the owner and operator of Brundage Trucking for over 42 years hauling oversize loads across the United States and Canada.

William E. Brundage, 68, of Prospect passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 6, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Brenda (Hill) Brundage. Bill, affectionately known as “Trucker Bill”, was the owner and operator of Brundage Trucking for over 42 years hauling oversize loads across the United States and Canada.

Born October 14, 1953 in Waterbury,CT, Bill was a treasured son of the late Robert Brundage and Francis Nowatensky. After graduation from Crosby High School, Bill proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era in the Navy as an operation specialist aboard the USS Voge (DE1047).
Bill was a dedicated Peterbilt guy, no other truck would ever measure up to Bill’s standards. He would take his sons with him on long hauls. They bonded over fixing, traveling or anything with the trucks. His sons have traveled through 42 states with their Dad.

Bill was down to earth, a friend to many and had a heart of gold. He enjoyed a good steak, fireworks, the edgy humor of Spongebob and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.


He leaves to cherish his love and memory his loving wife Brenda, sons Daniel R. (Debbie) Brundage of Bristol and Charles R. Brundage of Prospect and daughters Rebecca Lee Nadeau of Southington and Tonya of Florida. He also leaves his adoring grandchildren Jayce and Rori-Kate Spataro and Bailey Brundage, his brothers Robert (Linda) Brundage of ME. And Mark (Debbie) Brundage of SC., as well as nieces and nephews: Tracey Butterfield, Nicole Thompson, Richard John Brundage, Cheryl Laliberte and Mark A. Brundage Jr. and many cousins and friends.

Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by his brother Richard Brundage and sister Nancy Mulcahy.


Friends and family are invited to visit with the Brundage family on Saturday May 14, 2022 from 10am until 12 pm at Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd., Prospect. A funeral service for Bill will be held on Saturday at 12 noon at the funeral home . Interment with Military Honors will take place on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 11:00 am at Prospect Cemetery. Procession escorted by the Patriot Guard Riders will leave Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home at 10:45 am. Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home is honored to be assisting Bill’s family.
