Officials Considering Additional Renovation Items for Naugatuck High School
The additional items would be considered if the project finishes under budget.

At Wednesday’s Board of Mayor and Burgesses meeting, Burgess Bob Neth said there are additional items being considered for renovation after the original renovation at Naugatuck High School is completed, the Republican-American reports.
Officials are considering the additional items if the current $81 million renovation project is completed on time and under budget.
Neth, who is the chairman of the high school renovation committee, said at the meeting that the additional items would include adding bleachers at athletic fields, adding air conditioning and new tables to the cafeteria, building a storage facility for athletic equipment and putting up nets for baseball and softball fields, the paper reports.

Officials are also considering purchasing five homes in front of the high school to create more parking space and give people a better view of the high school, the paper reports. This part of the project would only be completed if homeowners were willing to sell and would cost the town $338,000 in addition to money to raze and pave the lots for which the borough could be reimbursed up to 75 percent of the cost.
Mayor Bob Mezzo told the paper he was pleased with the progress being made at the high school.
