ONCE opens this Saturday, February 3 at 8 pm on the Main Stage, sponsored by Thomaston Savings Bank. Read Republican-American's featured article on ONCE here! With a cast of incredible actor-musicians who accompany themselves on the soaring, gut-wrenching folk-rock score, ONCE is a uniquely theatrical experience that will move you to laughter, to tears, and to a deep understanding of the particular joy of joining together in song. Featuring all of the magical songs from the critically acclaimed film, including the Oscar-winning“Falling Slowly,” this achingly beautiful, joyously uplifting show strikes an unforgettable chord in audiences and speaks to the power of music to connect us all.
Actors-musicians Mark Garthwait and Nate Dobas said the highlight of “ONCE,” for them is the song “Gold,” which is the finale of the first act. “Something about that song gets into my soul,” Dobas said. “We had a ‘Nate Cry’ tally going because that song makes me so emotional.” “It’s a beautiful song, and the way it’s presented is going to move people,” Garthwait said. - Rep-Am
