Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UConn Fall 2024 Open House Held
OLLI moves into its 17th year of lifelong learning.

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, “OLLI,” at UConn Waterbury held their Fall 2024 Open House event on Friday. OLLI moves into its 17th year of lifelong learning.
Those interested in attending the free Open House were encouraged to register online or with a phone call, but walk-ins were graciously welcomed. After check in and refreshments, organizers explained some basic information about the program. In between two live sample classes, volunteer instructors addressed the audience about their upcoming courses.

Sergei Kamgalov shared a bit of his course “United Nations At a Crossroads: An Insider’s View” and Diane Stone showed some slides from her history course titled “The Real Triumph of the Will: Not Hitler’s Propaganda Film, But Holocaust Survivor Achievement in the Post War World.”
The OLLI Open House offered a chance to meet the team, see the facilities and get a taste of what the program has to offer, all while connecting with like-minded individuals.

The Fall 2024 Course Catalog lists all of the classes available to adults aged 50+. The fall semester features 29 new courses and includes hybrid, online and in-person instruction. All classes are scheduled on weekdays, with in-person sessions throughout the day on Fridays. OLLI Cafe is a weekly lunch and learn event on campus that features different guest speaker presentations. The Cafe series is free with the $65 membership fee.
Registration opens on Aug. 5 at 9 a.m. and a new member welcome will be held on Aug. 30 at 10 a.m. Information at olli.uconn.edu.
