Pastor of St. Vincent Ferrer Moves to Seymour Parish [UPDATED]

The final Catholic church in the borough will welcome a new priest as Rev. Forsyth moves on after 12 years at St. Vincent's.

In a six week period when three of the four Naugatuck Roman Catholic parishes learned that they will be assigned new administrators, the remaining parish has been notified that their pastor will be moving on at the end of July.

Father Kevin Forsyth, pastor of Saint Vincent Ferrer Church for the past 12 years, has been appointed pastor of Saint Augustine Church in Seymour. Fr. Forsyth’s new appointment is effective July 29 and the church has already posted a welcoming message on their website.

The Ladies Guild and Holy Name Society of St. Vincent Ferrer are hosting a farewell party for Fr. Forsyth on July 26 at 1 p.m. at the parish’s Continental Room. All parishioners are invited to attend.

UPDATE: Rev. Forsyth posted the following update about his successors: “The priests at Saint Francis will be taking over at Saint Vincent Ferrer too. Father Mathal Vellappallil will be Administrator and Father George Nadackal Varkey will be his assistant.”
