No.
Have you ever held a public office, whether appointive or elective?
Only elected service has been on BOE.
Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?
I feel strongly that each child desires an equal and equitable education to achieve success…and Naugatuck is striving to make that happen. I want to continue to be part of the team.
Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ___, and this is what I intend to do about it.
To make themselves heard by those seeking the best education available for their children. I plan to continue to listen to the parents and children and pass that info along to the Board to discuss and strengthen our educational programs.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
We all have differences…but it is from our differences that we find inspiration. We should not dwell on differences but rather look for common ground to reach a common goal.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
An important team issue will be attendance. If children do not attend how can they advance and reach their potential.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Presently I represent the BOE on two partner educational boards as a liaison member on their executive boards. I have presented at a conference on equity progress in the Naugatuck system.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Be yourself, be respectful, stay calm.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I give the best that I can for the good of the community. I am willing to listen…I am willing to learn….I believe in building relationships to achieve and advance goals.
