UPDATE: Demolition on Eyesore Building in Naugatuck to Continue Saturday
Naugatuck police are urging residents to avoid the area on Saturday.

“Ok - here is the latest update... The fine men and women of Wiese Construction (or De- Construction) are being very cautious and had to slow it down a bit for safety reasons....

...The job of taking “One South Main” will continue tomorrow... Until then, this is how she looks...if you are like me and have teenaged kids- it has a striking resemblance to a typical teenagers bedroom!!
As far as traffic goes - all lanes are opened back up - and tomorrow will be much the same as it was today...try to avoid it if you can!! There you have it! - have a great Friday night ... Just like most of “One South Main” ...we will be here!!,” Lt. Bryan Cammarata wrote on Facebook.

Weise Construction Co. of Norwich will demolish an eyesore building at 1 South Main St. on Friday, reports NBC Connecticut.
The company will be paid $42,900 for its services. The building is the first thing people see when driving off of Route 8 in the Borough, reports Paul Singley of the Citizen’s News.
Naugatuck will receive a portion of the property as a staging area for planned renovations to the Whittemore Bridge.
