Police Blotter: Assault and DUIs
The following public information was provided by the Naugatuck Police Department and the State Police Troop I barracks press book.

EVADING RESPONSIBILITY
Bernadette Candee, 51, 46 Candee Road, Naugatuck, was charged with evading responsibility and traveling too fast for conditions after police said she struck a stop sign at the intersection of Maple Hill Road and Mulberry Street and left the scene without reporting it on Oct. 15. Candee was released on Jan. 14 and is due to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 26.
ASSAULT
Joseph Mahoney, 34, 10 Taft Pointe, Waterbury, was charged with disorderly conduct, third-degree assault, threatening and second-degree unlawful restraint after police said he was involved in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend where the girl claimed he struck her several times on Jan. 14. Mahoney was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 18.
DRINKING WHILE DRIVING
Nancy Scherker, 19, 69 Merrimac St., Oakville, was charged with driving under the influence, possession of alcohol by a minor, drinking while driving a car and improper parking after police said she was stopped on Oak Street talk with someone in the road on Jan. 15. After several minutes and not moving her vehicle she was stopped by police and failed field sobriety tests. Scherker was released on a $500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 27.

DUI
Jennifer S. Miers, 32, 1307 Spindle Hill Road, Wolcott, was charged with a failure to have headlamps and driving under the influence after police stopped her on Union City Road on Jan. 16. Miers was released on a $500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 27.
DRIVING UNDER SUSPENSION
James Bradley, 36, 84 Galpin St., Naugatuck, was charged with driving an unregistered car, not having proper insurance, driving under suspension, theft of a motor vehicle marker plate and improper use of registration on Jan. 16. Police did not provide court or bond information.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Eric Burns, 19, 237 Spring St., Naugatuck, was charged with disorderly conduct on Jan. 16 after police said he was involved in a disturbance. Burns was released and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 18.
DUI
Luis M. Gonzalez, 34, 18 Galpin St., Naugatuck, was charged with driving under the influence, driving an unregistered car and a failure to drive in the proper lane after State Police pulled him over at Exit 27 in Naugatuck on Jan. 15. Gonzalez was held on a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 27.
