Police: Naugatuck Woman Set Up Hidden Camera to Catch Her Ex Stealing from Her
Naugatuck police say the woman felt like she was being stolen from and took matters into her own hands.

It reads like a routine police blotter item, but there’s nothing usual about this burglary arrest.
According to Naugatuck police, Eric Peil, 29, of Lee Road in Prospect, is accused of entering an Anderson Street residence without the homeowner’s permission, and Peil allegedly stole cash from the victim.
But here’s the unusual part. Police Lt. Bryan Cammarata said the homeowner suspected an ex-boyfriend was stealing from her so she set up a camera in her house to catch him in the act. She also left some money out on purpose as well

And lo-and-behold the homeowner was correct and the hidden camera allegedly caught Peil in the act stealing the cash that she planted, Cammarata said.
Peil had not lived there in more than a year, police said.

She then contacted police and Peil was charged with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny. He was initially held on $1,000 bond.
