Police Officer Shot In Waterbury During Carjacking Investigation
A police officer was hospitalized after a shooting during an auto theft investigation Thursday evening, according to police.

WATERBURY, CT — A police officer was shot while investigating carjackings Thursday evening in Waterbury, according to police.
Police from the department's Auto Theft Task Force were investigating attempted carjackings at various locations throughout the city.
Officers encountered the suspects on the city's West End. Officers engaged the suspects and an officer was shot in the leg.

The injured officer was taken to a local hospital. He is in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
The three suspects were taken into custody and arrested.
