Police Seek ID Of Suspects In Burglaries At 2 Naugatuck Stores: VIDEO

Police said the suspects broke in through front glass doors and stole money and items at both stores.

NAUGATUCK, CT β€” Police are asking for the public's help identifying suspects in recent burglaries at two Naugatuck stores.

The first burglary was reported Sept. 20 at Vape Rite, located on N Main Street, around 4 a.m., according to a news release provided by police.

During the burglary, two suspects entered the store after breaking a front glass door while a third suspect stayed in a getaway vehicle, which police believe to be a black Chevy Malibu.

Cash from the store's register and a back store room, as well as a box of wrappers, were reported stolen, police said.

The second burglary occurred Monday at Rebimbas Package Store, located on Maple Street, around 6 a.m., during which the store's front glass door was also broken, according to police.

During the burglary, two suspects entered the store while the driver of a white Nissan Rogue stayed behind. Using their cell phones as flash lights, the suspects stole money from the store's register and a rack of Newport cigarettes, police said.

Detectives were able to obtain audio and video surveillance footage of the burglaries from both stores, which police posted to the department's YouTube channel.

"It is our hope that the identity of these individuals will be uncovered in a timely manner to ensure that no other small business suffers a financial loss and damage to their livelihood," police said in a news release.
