Although it's a home now, the location was previously a candy store but decades prior the grounds housed a 19th century button mill. Research shows there was a knife and munitions manufacturer on the land, but that building burned down.
Through the years, bones have been unearthed over the property, and a bloody corset was discovered in the walls. And there’s the mystery of a “Mr. McDermitt.” For decades there have been ghosts up the stairs and as many as fifteen spirits below, in the basement and sub-basement, not to mention the creepy crawlspaces. On any given day, footsteps are heard walking up & down the steps, a cell phone is mysteriously put in the microwave, and groceries disappear. Spirits have often called out family names, and their beds have been kicked. An unplugged tiffany lamp goes on and off.
To add to all the activity, there is a raging running brook on the property.
The homeowner, who has opened her residence to this ghost hunt, is a former paranormal investigator, but is still a medium as well as a practicing witch. Her brother died in 2009 in the home, while still in his twenties.
Join The Shaman & The Showman LLC for their first great adventure of 2025. As with all their investigations, the evening includes dinner, an orientation, and a complete exploration of the building. The homeowner has agreed, for the first time ever, to share her very "spirited" experiences, and none of the rooms or areas are off limits.
The presenters will bring along their "ghost gear," paranormal equipment for participants to use, but visitors are also welcome to bring along any meters or apps or equipment they may have. This event is ideal for the most seasoned of investigators, as well as any newcomers to the field.
Limited to the first ten reservations each night, this very exclusive weekend of supernatural happenings will begin with a meal, a lecture on how to use the paranormal paraphernalia tools, followed by this rare opportunity inside a most amazing location.
In previous “ghost” events like this, the results were incredible, and over the years participants have gotten some amazing photographs and readings. The last exclusive investigation, at Waterbury’s Masonic Hall, delivered the most amazing experiences.
The entire event will go from 7pm until approximately 10pm. The event may be filmed and documented for future use. All ages welcome but under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The fee to participate, including the meal, introductory seminar, the equipment class, and the investigation itself, is $99 per person for this rare and raw opportunity. Because of the sensitivity of this event, and since space is so limited, it is recommended to reserve as soon as possible.
