Pomperaug Flu Shot Walk In Clinics Continue Through January
Flu Clinic Update: Mondays 3-5:30pm at 77 Main Street N. Southbury Suite 205

Southbury, CT - The Pomperaug District Department of Health will host weekly flu shot walk-in clinics every Monday from 3 to 5:30pm at the Health District office located at Playhouse Corner, 77 Main St. North, Suite 205 in Southbury, CT. The clinics will run through January, but there will be no clinic on Dec. 23, 2019. The office is located on the second floor at the rear of the complex.

The fees for the flu vaccines are quadrivalent vaccine for $30, FluMist vaccine for $30, Flublok vaccine for a fee of $65 and the high dose vaccine for $65. The high dose was not available at the clinic held on Nov. 25, but people lined up the remaining shots beginning at 3:00.
Accepted insurances include Medicare Part B, Aetna, Cigna, and HUSKY/Medicaid. Connecticare and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield are also accepted, with the exception of their Access Health/CT Exchange plans (the gold, silver, bronze plans.) Insurance cards must be presented at the clinic for each person receiving a vaccine and a copy of the card will be made. Persons with other health insurance or no health insurance must pay in cash, check or credit card.

This Dept. of Health offers the most protective flu vaccines currently on the market and the injections are given by nurses. The quadrivalent shot protects against four strains of the flu virus. Flublock vaccine is not made with eggs and also protects against four strains of the flu virus.
