Post 17 Claims Naugatuck Little Pal Championship
The team capped off an undefeated season with a victory Tuesday night.
Naugatuck American Legion Post #17 completed an undefeated season with a YMCA Little Pal boys championship over the Naugatuck Elks Lodge #967 Tuesday night at City Hill Middle School.
Post jumped out to an early 25-9 lead, but the Elks fought hard to make it a respectable game. In the end, Post proved to be too much and completed the best-of-three series with a 49-42 victory.
The Elks B-squad kept the team in it, as Christian Bonillia had 13 points, 12 rebounds and a pair of blocked shots. The Elks trimmed the lead to 38-34 on a pair of corner jump shots by Pat Brown with 6:24 to play.

Post's A-squad controlled the fourth quarter, as players hit most of their free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.
Post was led by Tyler Waters, 16 points and Joe Kwaak, 8 points, while Kody Butler and Joel Guzman had six apiece.

Bonillia led the Elks' scoring efforts, while Brown had six points.
GAME ONE
Post won game one with Tyler Waters leading the way with 16 points and Tyrese Pettaway with 15 points. The Elks 11-1 were led by Aren Seeger, 8 points, while Zack Alves and Bonillia had six points apiece. Post held a 27-8 lead at the half and the Elks never got in the game.
