WATERBURY, Conn. – Post University is proud to announce the 25th anniversary of providing flexible and personalized online learning experiences to students across the nation and around the world. Since launching its first fully online degree and certificate programs in 2000, Post has remained at the forefront of digital education, empowering students to achieve their academic goals on their own terms.

A Legacy of Innovation and Impact
Since its founding in 1890, Post has been dedicated to fostering academic excellence. In 2000, the University embraced the future of education by launching fully online programs – expanding access to higher education learning. This shift made higher education more inclusive and accessible, empowering students to balance their careers, families and personal commitments successfully.

Over the past 25 years, Post has achieved numerous milestones that underscore its leadership in providing online education:

  • 2000: Began offering fully online undergraduate degree and certificate programs
  • 2006: Introduced its first fully online master’s degree, the Master of Science in Human Services
  • 2009: Established the Online Education Institute, now named the Accelerated Degree Program, to provide dedicated admissions, advising and student support for online students
  • 2010: Introduced virtual commencement ceremonies for online graduates
  • 2013: Offered electronic course materials in place of physical textbooks
  • 2016: Launched an online RN-to-BSN program to support nursing professionals
  • 2018: Became one of the first universities to offer an online Bachelor of Equine Studies program
  • 2020: Introduced the Online Honors Program
  • 2021: Post acquired American Sentinel University, which later became the American Sentinel College of Nursing & Health Sciences, further expanding online nursing and healthcare program offerings
  • 2022: Partnered with the Connecticut Sun and Mohegan Gaming &Entertainment to provide career development opportunities and education benefits for online students
  • 2025: Acquired by Universidad Andres Bello (UNAB), strengthening its global reach and commitment to online student success


Celebrating with 25th Anniversary Scholarships for Post Online Students
To commemorate the milestone, Post is awarding 25 scholarships of $2,500 each to recognize and support dedicated online students. The scholarship is open to current Post students pursuing an online degree through the John P. Burke School of Public Service and Education, The Malcolm Baldrige School of Business, the School of Arts & Sciences and the American Sentinel College of Nursing & Health Sciences. Expanding Access to Quality Education
Currently, Post serves students in all 50 U.S. states and 21 countries providing career-focused learning opportunities – both on online and on its main campus – in business, healthcare, nursing, public service, education and more. The university’s recent affiliation with Universidad AndrΓ©s Bello (UNAB) further enhances its ability to support an even broader international community.
