Post University hosted convocation on Aug. 28, an event that celebrated the beginning of the 2024-2025 year, the 27th year of the university.
Students and faculty gathered outside on the lawn in front of the campus library for this historic event for the university. Probably due to the intensive heat and humidity of the early afternoon, the convocation turned out to be a less formal event than had been planned. Faculty members dressed in Post-branded shirts instead of ceremonial gowns as they stood behind the podium by teams.

Allen urged all Post students to get involved and to never miss an opportunity for personal growth. He assured the young people that their campus is a safe and secure place for learning. He congratulated the students for prioritizing their education and applauded them for being on the Post campus.
Affenito stated that the goal of the university is student success and they strive for a culture of care. In that vein, she urged the students to take advantage of the many supports available when faced with a challenge. She also suggested that the students embrace every moment of their experience.
Wilson, the provost of teaching and learning, reminded the students that a Club Fair was held yesterday and that they should consider taking advantage of the available clubs. Wilson also introduced the teams of associates in each of the schools on the Post campus.
Post University is divided into four schools, the School of Arts & Sciences, The Malcolm Baldrige School of Business, American Sentinel College of Nursing & Health Sciences and John P. Burke School of Public Service and Education.
Lucia Dressel, EdD, Assistant Dean of General Education in the School of Arts & Sciences, was in attendance, as was Abigail Nemec, MEd of the School of Arts & Sciences, the Equine Studies Program Chair.
The convocation offered students the opportunity to capture the moment with photos as they officially mark the beginning of their academic journey.
