SHARON PLAYHOUSE TAPS INTO 2022 WITH DANCE SENSATION DEMI REMICK

On Saturday, March 5th, Sharon Playhouse will present two performances of New York City’s premiere dance company, Demi Remick and Dancers. Their show, Radio Days, is a vignette-style tap dance performance that takes you from the Roaring 20's to the 2020’s. The 50-minute show is a joyful embrace of tap dance, jazz, and improvisation. Like the musical artists from back in the day, the show strives to articulate complicated human experiences through innocence, optimism, and comedy.

Demi Remick, who tours with the world-renowned Postmodern Jukebox, and performed in Dorrance Dance, is no stranger to the vintage music infused in Radio Days. The movement paralleled with modern rhythm tap dance create a nostalgic nod to the past while tackling emotions from human experiences of today. Radio Days is jam-packed with the music of Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Scott Bradlee, Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, and more.

Robert Johnson of Dance Enthusiast Magazine said of the show, “The mood is carefree, and sometimes gently romantic, but what makes us sit up straight is the energy in Remick’s breakout solo, a joyous and full-bodied expression of life.” Radio Days is currently performing an encore presentation at Arts on Site in New York City and will be presented for one-night only at Sharon Playhouse in the Bok Stage. Tickets are $35 and available for both the 7pm and 9pm performances on Saturday, March 5th, 2022. You can review their Covid-19 protocols and purchase tickets by visiting www.sharonplayhouse.org.
