Landmark Community Theatre is pleased to present the musical, "Beauty and the Beast," opening this Saturday, July 15th at 7 p.m. at the Thomaston Opera House. Based on the Academy award-winning animated feature, this musical includes all the songs from the film and more. The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity. A great opportunity for families to introduce their children to the wonder of theatre.

Beauty and the Beast is under the direction of Michael Calabrese, with music direction by Trish O’Porto. Calabrese previously directed “The Addams Family” and the Connecticut community theater debut of "Kinky Boots” at LCT. Beauty and the Beast stars LCT newcomers Danielle Orlando as “Belle,” Stephen Michelsson as “Beast,” and Killian Meehan as “Gaston.” Connecticut community theater veteran David Nichols plays Belle’s loving father, “Maurice.” Nichols is joined by Jonathan Ross as “Cogsworth,” Chris Guertin as “Lumiere,” and Shelby Griffin as “Babette.” Veronica Gelormino plays “Mrs. Potts” while the adorable Sawyer Delaney stars as her son, “Chip.” Robert Santoli plays "Lefou."

The show also features Amelia Nemeth as the opera singer-turned-wardrobe “Madame de la Grande Bouche;” Simone Matusevice as “Monsieur;” and Tyler Veronesi as “Young Prince.” Tamika Dessalines, Isabella Nizzardo, and Kati Seppa play Gaston’s fanatical female followers, “Les Filles De la Ville.” The ensemble includes Theonova Barkley, Nick Bates, Matthew Benson, Sheila Duckworth, Sarah Ford, Taryn McWilliams, Matt Monito, Gracie Percival, Lilly Percival, and Hailey “Olli” Stamm. The Youth Ensemble consists of Molly Crossley, Kara Gueli, and Teagan Guertin, who recently starred as Ben in LCT’s Youth Theatre production of “Disney’s Descendants: The Musical.”
