Preview of 'Next to Normal' at Square Foot Theatre

Wallingford, CT - Square Foot Theatre in Wallingford has announced a High School and College Night of 'Next to Normal' on Friday, Oct. 20 at 7:30 pm. High school and area college students are invited to attend this performance at a lower ticket price and there will be a talk back with the cast.

There will also be an open dress rehearsal on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 7:30pm with a suggested donation of $14. All donations from the dress rehearsal will be going to the Jamie Hulley Arts Foundation, the sponsor of Square Foot Theatre.

The musical is an unflinching look at a suburban family struggling with the effects of mental illness. Reports are that the Square Foot cast is incredibly talented and professional.

'Next to Normal,' with book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey and music by Tom Kitt, explores how one suburban household copes with crisis and mental illness. Winner of three 2009 Tony Awards, including Best Musical Score and the 2010 Pulitzer Prize, 'Next to Normal' was also chosen as "one of the year's ten best shows" by critics around the country, including The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, Rolling Stone and The New York Times. 'Next to Normal' is an emotional powerhouse that addresses such issues as grieving a loss, ethics in modern psychiatry, and suburban life.
