The Two Gentlemen of Verona director will present "A Woman's Reason," a discussion of her selection and direction of that Shakespeare comedy for the Summer of 2016. Emily Mattina, Shakesperience's Artistic Director and the State of Connecticut's 2015 Elizabeth Mahaffee Arts Administration Fellow, will introduce the themes of the production. Ms. Mattina will share her exploration of social constructs, including when Friendship and Romantic Love are in conflict for Two Gentlemen of Verona. Join us as she presents her concept and approach to mounting this Shakespeare adaptation filled with art, doppelgängers, dogs, and the scenery and music of a fairground.
