Preview of Upcoming Music and Art Events at WAMS

Waterbury Arts Magnet School will present three concerts at the Palace Theater and an art show opening in the school's atrium.

v The Spring Choral concert is on Monday (5/18) at the Palace Theater at 7pm. Tickets are $5 for adults, $2 for students/kids and those under 5yrs of age are free (but still must have a ticket). If you purchase tickets at the door at showtime, the cost increases to $7.50 each. Should you wish to buy tickets ahead of time, please stop by the Parent Liaison office. Marissa Perry, yes Broadway’s Marissa Perry, helped the students with the choreography for the ‘Hairspray’ medley.

v The WAMS Rock Orchestra concert is at The Palace Theater Thursday (5/21) at 7:00. Students have been attending this after-school program twice a week since last fall and their hard work will culminate in a performance consisting of rock music with an orchestra twist. Come out and listen to this talented group perform favorite pieces by such bands as David Bowie, Green Day, Stray Cats and Avenged Sevenfold. The performance will last under an hour and will be followed by the wonderful WAMS Jazz Band. Admission is $7.50 and tickets are available at the door.

v The WAMS Annual Visual Arts Exhibit Opening will be held on Friday, May 22nd from 5p-7p in the Atrium. The exhibit will feature works from WAMS students and also works from students at Rotella and Maloney Magnet Schools. Come out and see some amazing stuff – refreshments will be served.
