Prof. Lisa Rebeschi Named President of League for Nursings' Board

North Haven, CT – Professor Lisa Rebeschi of North Branford, associate dean of the Quinnipiac University School of Nursing, has been named president of the Connecticut League for Nursing’s Board of Directors.

“It is my distinct honor to begin my tenure as president of the board of directors,” Rebeschi said. “In this role, I am excited about the opportunity to work with the deeply talented board members and staff who are some of the most committed professionals that I have had the pleasure to work with.
“Our collective actions to further the CLN mission in promoting educational excellence in preparing a diverse professional nursing workforce is of critical importance,” she added. “The CLN remains one of the leaders for change and innovation within the Connecticut health care landscape.”


In addition to Rebeschi, Quinnipiac’s Susan D'Agostino, clinical associate professor of nursing and director of nurse practitioner programs, and Teresa Twomey, associate professor of nursing and director of global nursing experiences, are board members.

Before joining Quinnipiac in 2019, Rebeschi served as chair of the nursing department at Southern Connecticut State University. She was responsible for leading and managing more than 60 full- and part-time adjunct faculty who taught in the undergraduate baccalaureate program, 12-month accelerated career entry program for second degree students, MSN degree programs and an online EdD in nursing education.


Before that, Rebeschi was a tenured professor at Southern Connecticut, teaching numerous undergraduate and graduate (MSN and EdD) courses. Earlier in her academic career, she was an adjunct lecturer and clinical instructor in pediatric nursing at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford.

Rebeschi received her doctorate from Capella University in Minneapolis, and her master's and bachelor's degrees in nursing from Southern Connecticut.


During her career, she has conducted research, published and presented widely, and received numerous grants. She is active in community service and serves as an accreditation site visitor for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and a member of the National League for Nursing, the American Nurses Association and the Connecticut Nurses Association.


She is the recipient of many awards, including a leadership award from the Connecticut League for Nursing, the Nightingale Award for Excellence in Nursing from the VNA of South Central Connecticut and the G. Gordon Copeland Award for Extraordinary Volunteer Service from the American Red Cross of Central Connecticut.


The CLN is dedicated to expanding educational access and opportunity for all nursing faculty, practitioners and students. Its focus is to create better, easier ways to access the latest nursing information, identify schools and programs to earn additional academic degrees, and to help nurses develop the knowledge, attitudes, skills and competencies needed to advance their careers.
