Protesters Briefly Shut Down I-84 In Waterbury Sunday
This is the second interstate shutdown by people protesting the death of George Floyd, who died in police custody this week in Minnesota.

WATERBURY, CT — Protesters shut down Interstate 84 in both directions between Exits 22 and 23 in Waterbury Sunday afternoon, according to state officials. The highway was closed for about an hour but has since reopened as of 1 p.m.
This comes one day after protesters shut down a portion of Route 8 in Bridgeport for several hours Saturday. Numerous protests were held across the state and nation this weekend.
The Republican-American reports that the group is affiliated with Black Lives Matter and protesting the death of George Floyd, who died in the custody of Minneapolis police this week.
