Public invited to Health, Fitness and Wellness Fair at WCSU

The fair will include activities that help relieve stress and encourage staying healthy, and is free and open to the public.

DANBURY, Connecticut — Western Connecticut State University will host its annual Health, Fitness and Wellness Fair from noon to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, in the Midtown Student Center Restaurant, 181 White St. in Danbury. The fair will include activities that help relieve stress and encourage staying healthy, and is free and open to the public.

Attendees can participate in activities such as fitness and wellness demonstrations, cross-cultural and holistic healing, free food, giveaways, product samples and much more. There will be kittens, baby goats and therapy dogs to interact with as well.

“Our objective is to increase awareness of topics related to health, fitness and wellness by providing activities, materials, demonstrations, screenings and information to our participants,” said WCSU Associate Director of Recreation Amy Shanks. “It is a great way for our student body to learn about the resources available to them on campus, as well as opportunities that are available to everyone in the community.

The event is hosted by WCSU Health Services, WestConn Recreation, the Institute for Holistic Health Studies Wellness Center and the WCSU Counseling Center.
