Ready, Set, Go! Pre-K Field Trip

Many of the rising kindergarten students rode a school bus for the first time to head to Stepping Stones Children's Museum.

Friday marked the final day of the Ready, Set, Go pre-kindergarten program and the students were treated to what for many was their first field trip experience.

The school bus brought them to the Stepping Stones Children's Museum in Norwalk CT. The children and their chaperones were split into two groups to experience the child-friendly exhibits and a hands-on lesson about seeds with a member of the museum staff. After eating their bagged lunch in the cafeteria, the students headed back to Naugatuck High School to meet their parents and say goodbye to their teachers.

Naugatuck Partnership for Children's Jill Mahoney accompanied the children to help count and recount the young heads. Teachers Joyce Young (a kindergarten teacher a Maple Hill,) Cindy Falcetti (a second grade teacher at Andrew Avenue,) and Nancy Janis (a first grade teacher at Andrew Avenue by day) supervised their students with the assistance of Park and Rec teen workers.

The students had a great time exploring the museum. Many fell asleep on the bus on the way home after so much excitement.
