Social Action Committee Thanksgiving Food Basket Covid Update
The Committee has decided to implement some changes to their usual Thanksgiving Food Basket program.

WOODBRIDGE, CT - Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, Social Action Committee at Our Lady of the Assumption Church will, at this time, be unable to assemble and distribute food baskets/ boxes as they have done in the past at Thanksgiving.
The Committee has decided to implement the following changes:
1. Of the five groups that they annually donate to, four of them will receive gift cards to grocery stores in their areas.

2. One group was able to share in the food collected recently from the "drive by food drop off" at the church parking lot.
3. The fifth group was able to pick up all the food items we had in the pantry in the basement. With lots of help from volunteers the food items were boxed/bagged up, carried up into the hall where three loads were moved out a week ago. This group will continue to pick up food left in the back of the church.

SAC urges all parishioners to continue to consider making food donations which can be left in the back of the church. MORE THAN EVER non perishables are needed in our community.
For those not able to drop off food, monetary donations are welcome. Please call or text John Reilly (203 804 7288) with any questions. As always, we thank you for your help and generosity.
