Town officials want to explore using state grant money to purchase five homes in front of Naugatuck High School to help provide better access to the school and more parking, reports, Paul Singley of the Waterbury Republican-American reports.
Singley reports that it would cost $338,000 to purchase the five houses, but that figure doesn’t include demolition costs. Also the town has ruled out eminent domain, and at least one of the homeowners is against selling his house, the paper reports.
Several of the homeowners have expressed a willingness to sell though.
